Resolved: Current trends in American political dialogue compromise meaningful democratic deliberation.

The 2010 NFL Public Forum resolution is different from most other Public Forum resolutions in two significant ways:

(1) The answer is driven almost entirely by how the rather ambiguous terms are defined/understood;

(2) It’s largely a value question.

In this brief essay, I will explore some basic understanding of the terms and discuss some of the arguments on both sides.

Learning LD Debate

The National Forensic League proudly presents Learning Lincoln Douglas Debate. This instructional DVD is intended as a tutorial for students and coaches alike, and can be used in the classroom, or to catch up a student who has missed instruction.

The DVD is hosted by two coaches who wrote the NFL’s LD Debate lesson plan series. Hall of Fame coach Pam Cady Wycoff of Apple Valley High School in Minnesota introduces Lincoln Douglas Debate, explaining its benefits and what makes it unique.
